Hate to ask, but could someone run a VIN check please?

I posted sometime last week about trying to find a car for my younger brother with a budget of around $3,000. I came upon this 325ix a few days ago and I just got back from test driving it.

Here's the link to the CL add if you want to check it out.

A few things about the car. It is supposed to be AWD, but the front wheels aren't driven right now so for some reason so it is only RWD. It has been repainted sometime in its past; minor paint chips here and there. Odometer reads 198,xxx but it currently isn't working. Custom exhaust but the muffler is starting to rot a little so it leaks around the back driver's side tire. Overall it drives very well, great torque and it still loves to be revved high.

The seller posted more pics which can be found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

VIN is: WBAAB9301J2551202

Let me know what you guys think, whether this is a NP or CP! Keep in mind this is a first car for my younger brother so I'm trying to figure out if this is the right car for him. If I hadn't bought my Baja Bug in December, I would own this car right now.

"Check'd it out yesterday. Sorry bro, but there's no way you can live life a 1/4 mile at a time in a car like that."

Hmm... The craigslist post doensn't make it look too bad, but I'd be concerned if the front wheels aren't being driven if it is an X. I'm not very knowledgeable about the AWD ones, but with my experience on 80s BMW's, if something is broken it probably wont be cheap to fix. If it wasn't for that it would be great.

Ya that's got me a little concerned as well. I drove it around some and it drove very well even without the front wheels working. Luckily there's a shop that specializes in BMWs about a mile from the seller's house so if my brother is really interested I'll definitely be bringing it there for a checkup before he decides to move on it.

Awesome man, thanks! Is there anything about accident or repair history? The car seems right and tight, but I'd just like to make sure.

Well it is for my brother so the decision is ultimately up to him. If I had the money, I would absolutely buy it.
